DrH is not a one-off download that ages badly. Autodesk ships a new host year every spring, and the library moves with it. A Pro licence is $100 per user per year, and it covers everything published in that year — including tools you ask for.

Most add-in packs give you a fixed set and leave you to work around the gaps. DrH is built the other way round. The library is the product, and it grows because Pro users point at the tedious part of their week and ask for it to go away.
Write what you do by hand today and how often. You do not need to specify an API, a command name or a dialog layout.
Every request gets a straight answer: it is being built, it needs narrowing, or it is out of scope and here is why.
Accepted tools are published to the library. Press Update in the DrH panel and the new command is there — no installer, no IT ticket.
Unless you ask for it to stay private, an accepted tool joins the shared library. The library you buy into is the one other engineers keep improving.
A new tool is published against the host years you are actually on, matched to the right runtime channel, not just the newest release.
On Team plans a requested tool can be published to a private feed that only your office can see.

One named person, on as many workstations as that person works at. If an engineer has a desk machine and a laptop, that is one licence, not two.
You can request anything. What gets built is what fits the library: a repeatable task inside Civil 3D, Revit or Navisworks that more than one person would use. Anything too specific to one project is better as a private Team tool.
It depends entirely on the ask. You will get a realistic estimate in the reply rather than a queue position, and small routines usually land far sooner than anything that needs a new dialog.
Tools already installed keep working — nothing is switched off on your machine. What stops is the flow of new tools and updates, until the licence is renewed.

Support for a new host year is part of the licence, not a paid upgrade. Library tools are republished against the new year as it becomes available.
